Berlin overview

Berlin

We offer Berlin architecture tours guided by local architects and open visits to architecture studios.

Berlin is the capital of the strongest country in Europe, fully restored after the massive bombs dropped in this city over the II World War, it is full of high-tech buildings designed by the best architects in the world. Foster, Chipperfield, Gropius, Libeskind, Koolhas or Eisenman are some of the one who had the fortune to contribute to the architecture of a city with a very high quality of living.

The symbol of the German reunification is the Potsdamer Platz, holding a myriad of contemporary buildings such as the gold-coloured Berliner Philharmonie by Hans Scharoun, home of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Other symbols are the Berlin Cathedral, the Brandenburg Gate, the triumphal arch and one of the icons of Berlin, the Victory Column (Siegessäule) and the Fernsehturm (TV tower), one of the tallest structures in the EU.

Modern constructions shape the New Berlin, the Kulturforum, a master plan by Hans Sharoun or the New National Gallery (Neue National galerie) by Mies van der Rohe are great examples. Berlin’s modern and contemporary architecture is filled with new and wonderful constructions in one of the European cities that has changed the most within the 20th century.
